WHAT IS SYLENTMITE ?

  • SYLENTMITE is a mixture of minerals, mainly calcium oxide, aluminum oxide, iron oxide and silicon dioxide which when mixed with cold water, expands.
  • SYLENTMITE is a powder with an incredible 20,000 PSI expansive power when mixed correctly with water. Poured into holes, Sylentmite cracks and breaks rocks, boulders and other stones including reinforced concrete and granite, safely and silently.
  • Since Sylentmite provides controlled demolition according to the pattern of holes drilled, it breaks reinforced concrete and all kinds of stone in the desired size and shape easily, without notice or vibration.
  • In demolition, excavating & concrete cutting, Sylentmite helps you break the rock into manageable pieces, giving you the control required to cut off rebar and dispose of it without disturbing or damaging the remainder of the rock.
  • In mining & quarrying, Sylentmite aids to achieve perfect slabs from limestone, onyx, marble ,granite or any other kind of rock being quarried. Compared to blasting, Sylentmite drastically reduces waste or damage to valuable stone.
  • Sylentmite can be applied with traditional methods also, such as hydraulic breaker, diamond blade saw or jackhammer to help reduce costs, to save time, and to increase safety.

DEPLOYMENT

Recommended personal protection equipment: Please use ......

  • Drill holes in the rock to be broken. Hole diameter of 1½ - 2 inches (38-50 mm)
    • Hole spacing of 8 – 20 inches (200 – 500 mm). Closer together the harder the rock.
    • Hole depth to be 80 - 90 % of the depth of rock.
    • For multiple break lines drill several lines of holes, between 10 – 30 inches (250 - 750 mm) apart. Closer together the harder the rock. Allow the rock to cool after Drilling.

  • Mix SYLENTMITE with cold water into a loose slurry.
    • Mix one and a half liters of cold water with TWO 5.5 lb (2 X 2.5 kg) bag of SYLENTMITE.
    • Clean debris from holes with a compressed air line.

    • Use only the recommended amount of water to avoid Blowouts.

  • Pour SYLENTMITE mixture into the holes.
    • Completely fill the holes ensuring there are no air pockets.

  • Cracks in the rock will begin to appear within about 90 minutes of filling the holes
    • Fragmentation will be completed within about 180 minutes, depending on the hardness of the rock and ambient temperatures
    • The process can be speeded up or slowed down if desired by the addition of an ACCELERATOR or a RETARDER
